More than 200 representatives of business and culture visited the First Charity Evening “Anne of Kyiv. New Millennium". Due to their generosity the Anne of Kyiv Cultural Center managed to raise 5.5 million hryvnias for restoration works.

"I want everyone to be proud of their participation in this Charity Evening. This is a unique opportunity which God gives us. We will be able to tell our grandsons that we were at the First Charity Evening, we remembered Sentsov, we remembered other combatants. Today, Ukraine's biggest challenge is to restore hope and trust. Anne of Kyiv Cultural Center will be the center of rapprochement and resistance of those millions of Ukrainians who live outside Ukraine", said Bishop Borys Gudziak after a joint prayer at the Charity Evening.

Each of the participants of the Charity Evening contributed to the construction of a powerful center of Ukrainian culture and diplomacy in the center of Europe.

"I am convinced that cultural diplomacy is a matter of national security. Today we must defend our history, our culture and fight for our European future more than ever before", said Maryna Poroshenko, a member of the Honorary Committee of the Charity Evening.

Back in XI century Queen Anne of Kyiv left her signature in history. She was a patron of culture, education and spiritual development. Fortunately, a sample of its signature has survived to this day and we keep it with great pride and honor as evidence of Ukraine's contribution to the development of Europe.

During the Charity Evening, guests also had the opportunity to put their signature on a special stand. This signature symbolizes their contribution to strengthening Ukrainian cultural presence abroad.

We are sure that this event will bring us one step closer to our goal — creation of a powerful outpost of Ukrainian cultural diplomacy in France. Let's meet again next year!
